A Range of Motion Exercise is a gentle, beginner-friendly movement that combines slow motion and mindful breathing to reduce stress while working your obliques, abs, and balance.
Begin by standing tall with your feet hip-width apart and your knees slightly bent. Place your hands on your hips or extend your arms out to the sides for balance. Take a deep breath in through your nose, allowing your ribs and belly to expand. As you exhale, slowly rotate your torso to one side, keeping your hips facing forward. Move only within a comfortable range—there should be no strain.
Inhale as you return to center, then exhale as you rotate to the opposite side. Keep your core gently engaged and your movements smooth and controlled. Let your breath guide the pace. Focus on balance by keeping your weight evenly distributed through your feet.
Continue for 1 to 2 minutes. This calming exercise improves mobility, strengthens the core, and helps release tension.
