Triangle Pose, or Trikonasana, is a beginner-friendly yoga posture that works your obliques, abs, and core while opening your chest and improving overall balance. It’s a simple yet highly effective pose for strength, flexibility, and posture.
Start by standing with your feet wide apart, about three to four feet distance. Turn your front foot forward and your back foot slightly inward. Inhale and extend your arms out to the sides at shoulder height, keeping your shoulders relaxed.
Exhale and gently hinge at your hip, reaching your front hand down toward your shin, ankle, or the floor, while stretching your other arm up toward the ceiling. Keep your chest open and your spine long. Engage your core and maintain a steady gaze forward or up at your top hand.
Hold for 20–30 seconds, breathing deeply, then return to standing and repeat on the other side. Triangle Pose strengthens the obliques, tones the core, and stretches the chest, legs, and spine.
