Triangle Pose is a beginner-friendly yoga posture that works your obliques, abs, and core while opening your chest and improving balance. Despite its simple appearance, it is incredibly effective for building strength and stability.
Begin by standing with your feet wide apart, about three to four feet apart. Turn your front foot forward and your back foot slightly inward. Extend your arms out to the sides at shoulder height, palms facing down. Inhale deeply, then as you exhale, reach your front hand forward and hinge at your hip, lowering your hand toward your shin, ankle, or the floor. Stretch your opposite arm straight up toward the ceiling, creating a straight line from one hand to the other.
Engage your core and lengthen through your spine, keeping your chest open. Hold the pose for several breaths, focusing on steady breathing and maintaining balance. Return to standing and switch sides. Triangle Pose strengthens your core, stretches your body, and improves overall stability.
